The QUALI-DEC project team

The QUALI-DEC project relies on an international and multidisciplinary team. Its specialists throughout the world bring to the project their local knowledge and studies in order to enrich and refine it over time.

Grouped around Alexandre Dumont, the project’s scientific coordinator, they also help to disseminate QUALI-DEC decision-making tools to institutions in the various countries concerned.

Alexandre Dumont

is a gynecologist-obstetrician, research director at the Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD) and technical advisor to the World Health Organization (WHO). He is the scientific coordinator of the QUALI-DEC project.

Delia Visan

Delia Visan

is the manager of the QUALI-DEC project. She provides support to the coordinator and consortium partners in the overall implementation of the project.

Myriam de Loenzien

Myriam de Loenzien

is a researcher in demography at the IRD and professor at the University of Paris-Descartes. His work focuses on family and gender relations in sub-Saharan African and South-East Asian countries.

Marion Ravit

Marion Ravit

is an epidemiologist and post-doctoral fellow at IRD. As Senior Data Manager, she coordinates data collection for the QUALI-DEC project.

Claudia Hansen

is a researcher and clinician specializing in gynaecology and obstetrics. Her research focuses on improving neonatal care systems, particularly in developing countries (Mozambique, Tanzania, India...).

Kristi Sidney Annerstedt

is a postdoctoral researcher at the Karolinska Institute. His work focuses on the implementation of devices to improve childbirth conditions in India.

Guillermo Carroli

is a doctor specializing in obstetrics. He currently works as a researcher and is the director of the Centro Rosarino de Estudios Perinatales (CREP), a World Health Organization collaborating center for maternal and child health and population. He is also the editor of the WHO Reproductive Health Library, an open access electronic library. He is the principal investigator for the QUALI-DEC study in Argentina.

is a physician specialized in obstetrics and gynecology. She currently works as a researcher at the Centro Rosarino de Estudios Perinatales (CREP), as a teacher at the National University of Rosario and as a clinician at the Provincial Hospital of Rosario. She has worked for seven years as assistant editor of the WHO Reproductive Health Library.

Liana Campodonico

is a statistician. Graduate of the National University of Rosario. She has worked for more than 30 years at Centro Rosarino de Estudios Perinatales (CREP) as a researcher in the field of clinical trials and global surveys.

Mariana Romero

Mariana Romero

Elle est chercheur principal au département Santé, économie et société du Centre d’étude de l’État et de la société (CEDES) et chercheur associé au Conseil national de la recherche scientifique et technique (CONICET), Argentine. Elle est également coordinatrice de l’OSSyR (Observatoire de la santé sexuelle et reproductive), co-fondatrice de REDAAS (Red de Acceso al Aborto Seguro, Réseau d’accès sécurisé à l’avortement) - Argentine. Elle a développé des projets de recherche dans les domaines de la santé publique, des systèmes et des programmes de santé, avec un accent particulier sur l’avortement, la mortalité maternelle et la santé et les droits sexuels et reproductifs.

holds a Master's degree in Public Health from Khon Kaen University, Thailand, working on research synthesis and predictive modeling system. She is currently manager of Cochrane Thailand.

Pisake Lumbiganon

is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Head of the Cochrane Centre in Thailand and Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre on Reproductive Health Research Synthesis. He is also President of the Royal Thai College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Vice-President of the Asian Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Asia-Oceania. He is the principal investigator for the QUALI-DEC study in Thailand.

Ramon Escuriet

currently works as Commissioner for Sexual and Reproductive Health in the National Health Service (SNS) of Catalonia and is responsible for the implementation of health plans at the regional level. From his position within the SNS, he works closely with stakeholders - health care providers, women's representatives and scientific associations, obstetricians and midwives - to design and implement health plans and professional training programs.

holds a degree in Humanities from the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and a degree in Nursing from the University of Barcelona (UB). She is currently a professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Ramon Llull University and director of the Master's degree in Women's Health and Welfare.

Simon Tiendrébéogo

is a statistician and researcher at the Institut de Recherche en Sciences de la Santé (IRSS) in Burkina Faso. His work focuses on the modelling of duration and longitudinal data. Maternal and child health is a privileged field of application of his research. In this field, he has also worked on data from West African countries in particular.

worked in emergency obstetric care and quality assurance programs at referral hospitals in West Africa. She has also worked on research interventions to improve postpartum maternal and child health in referral hospitals in Africa. Her research focuses on the practice of Caesarean sections in West Africa. He is the principal investigator for the QUALI-DEC study in Burkina Faso.
